Many members of the Edmonton Oilers celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving together at superstar captain Connor McDavid's place over the weekend. NHL Hockey teams are usually very close with one another, and they see plenty of one another over the course of an 82 game schedule with constant road trips. But it's a good way to build team camaraderie, and the Edmonton Oilers, who have now been to the SCF twice in a row, are doing just that. It came on the heels of their disappointing loss to the Calgary Flames in which they held a multi-goal lead but couldn't protect it. It was also the 1st appearance back in Edmonton for ex-Oilers forward Evander Kane, who was traded to the Canucks in the summer, not long after Edmonton lost in the SCF to the Florida Panthers once again. During the game, Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/vancouver-canucks/canucks-defenseman-given-hefty-fine-for-slashing-connor-mcdavid' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>appeared to intentionally slash</a> McDavid. He wasn't penalized on the play, but he would later be hit with a $2,500 US fine from the NHL Department of Player Safety. It may not seem like much, but that's the largest amount allowed under the current CBA.
