Major Development Emerges Regarding Leon Draisaitl's Status for Clash vs the Flames

The Edmonton Oilers might receive a massive boost ahead of tomorrow night's matchup with the Calgary Flames.

Draisaitl is expected to face Calgary, according to Sports 1440's Jason Gregor, as he will participate in tomorrow's morning skate. The 29-year-old has missed the last three games due to an undisclosed injury.

Draisaitl's return would be a massive boost for the Oilers, as he has been their MVP this year.

His 49 goals lead the NHL, and his 101 points trail only Nikita Kucherov and Nathan MacKinnon. Draisaitl is still a Hart Trophy candidate, despite his recent absence.

As for McDavid, word is his injury will keep him out longer than initially expected, though no timeline has been provided as of yet. He's already missed three games due to a lower-body injury.

The Oilers are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games and sit two points behind the Kings for second in the Pacific. They appear unlikely to catch the Vegas Golden Knights for first place, as they trail by seven points with 10 games left in the season.
