The Oilers were already without Leon Draisaitl when Connor McDavid and Stuart Skinner left the game early, and Kris Knoblauch spoke about it afterward.

Edmonton Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch provided brief commentary following Thursday evening's 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets, speaking regarding Connor McDavid's injury following the superstar forward having to leave the contest.
"No updates on McDavid/Skinner," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported, quoting Knoblauch after the game.
McDavid departed in the latter part of the second period after taking a hit around the ribs from Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey while he was going hard on the puck in the offensive zone. He did not return for the third period.

The loss came on the day the Oilers announced that Leon Draisaitl would be out of games due to an unspecified condition.
Compounding Edmonton's misery, goalie Stuart Skinner was forced to leave in the final five minutes when a crease collision left him subject to concussion protocols.
"I wouldn't have pulled him, and Stu didn't want to come out," Knoblauch said, per Sportsnet's Mark Spector.

Before he left the game, McDavid had registered an assist and skated for nearly 15 minutes. He now has 90 points for the season.
Skinner, who made 13 saves before coming out, was replaced by Calvin Pickard, who gave up the game-winning goal to Kyle Connor in overtime on three of the four shots he had to face.
Josh Morrissey, Cole Perfetti, and Brandon Tanev tallied for the Jets (48-18-4), who won for the fourth time in five. Jeff Skinner had two goals and Zach Hyman had one for the Oilers, whose three-game winning streak was snapped.
The defeat left Edmonton (40-24-5, 85 points) three points back of the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific Division, now two points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings.
