Tonight the Edmonton Oilers have been hit with devastating news as Connor McDavid has left with an injury.

After announcing that Leon Draisaitl would be out for an extended period of time due to injury earlier today the Oilers night has gotten even worse.
As the Oilers are in the midst of a game against the best team in the Western Conference, the Winnipeg Jets, tragedy has struck at the end of the second period.
McDavid, at the end of the period was seen heading back to the bench in discomfort where he remained for several minutes until the end of the period.
The play in question that led McDavid to leave the game seems to have come after Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey came in with an awkward collision in the corner.
After speaking to the athletic training staff, McDavid and his teammates went to the locker room to prepare for a crucial third period.
Unfortunately, as the Oilers emerged for the third period, they did so without their captain as McDavid has stayed in the locker room and appears to be done for the night.
At the moment, the severity of his injury is unknown but if McDavid and Draisaitl are both out long-term, this situation could become catastrophic for the Oilers incredibly quickly.
As more details are made available on McDavid's health, we will pass along the latest details.
