Jake Walman Gets Candid About His Biggest Hope Before Joining Oilers Lineup Tonight

The Edmonton Oilers will get a boost from the blue line tonight, as defenseman Jake Walman is back in the lineup when the Oilers host the Ottawa Senators.

Walman, who's been out of the lineup with an injury, expressed his enthusiasm to be on the ice and hopes to play a game he describes as fast-paced, something he enjoys and something the team enjoys.

Before the game, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reported morning line rushes, and Vasily Podkolzin was skating on the top line again, where he ended the game in Detroit.

The Oilers are also re-jiggering their defensive pairings once again, hoping Walman's return will set things back in order for a group that has struggled to keep top-end scoring chances from happening.

Defensively, Edmonton has been enduring a streak of allowing perhaps 15 Grade A shots per game during the past four games, tick above their 12 average.

Mattias Ekholm has been steady, but some of the top blue-line defensemen have noticed an increase in expensive mistakes early in the season.

The club does understand adjustments need to be made in a hurry if they want to regain defensive rhythm.

With Walman in the fold and ready to play, the Oilers will seek to revamp their style of game and build some momentum on both sides of the ice tonight.
