Today, a new report from NHL insider Frank Seravalli has named four potential players as potential trade deadline pieces.

Heading into the season, the Edmonton Oilers have a lot of unproven players in key spots of the lineup.
With so many young and unproven players the Oilers have been forced to play Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl together and put a lot more responsibility on the two of them than expected.
This has led many to believe the Oilers will make multiple big moves ahead of or at the trade deadline to take some of that pressure off of McDavid and Draisaitl.
Even with the deadline months away, insider Frank Seravalli has suggested four players who could be on the way out of Edmonton in return for veteran star players.

Frank Seravalli Suggests Four Players the Oilers Could Trade This Season

During a recent appearance on the Kevin Karius Show, Seravalli indicated that Isaac Howard, Curtis Lazar, Ty Emberson, and Mattias Janmark as the four players most likely to be moved.
First, he discusses Isaac Howard who is waiver exempt and a great prospect who could be enticing to a team looking to rebuild.
I think there's going to be a pecking order here. I think the first player likely to move is Issac Howard, because he's waiver-exempt.

Next up, is Curtis Lazar who is more of a potential waiver casualty more than a trade piece but still could be used as a throw in to acquire a veteran player.
Then, I'd say it's probably Curtis Lazar, and as you work through the permutations, the Oilers want to do everything they can to avoid putting Noah Philp on waivers, because they think he's likely to be claimed and I do too

Finally, we have the two most likely to be traded Ty Emberson and Mattias Janmark both of whom are proven veterans who can play a particular role that could be valuable to both contenders and rebuilders.
When everyone is healthy, the odd man out is going to be (Ty) Emberson. When that happens, do the Oilers look to make a trade and move Emberson? And the other part is I think they would be open to moving (Mattias) Janmark in the right trade if that were to present itself.
All of these players on their own likely wouldn't net the Oilers a truly game changing player, but, in combination with draft picks or multiple players could help bring McDavid and Draisaitl the help they need.
Over the next few months, each of these players will be the most crucial ones to follow as GM Stan Bowman begins planning his next moves.
