The Oilers and Kings are on a collision course to meet in the playoffs, and former Edmonton player Warren Foegele absolutely ripped the team apart.

The Edmonton Oilers and LA Kings are once again likely going to clash in the playoffs, rekindling a long-simmering rivalry. The series would also witness the return of a familiar face to Alberta, Warren Foegele.

The Oilers chose not to re-sign Foegele after last year's playoff run

After appearing in the Stanley Cup Final last year, the Oilers chose not to re-sign Foegele, and the 28-year-old winger hit the open market as a free agent.
He signed with the Oilers' sworn enemies, eliciting good-natured teasing from his former teammates in the off-season.
With his time in LA approaching nearly a year, though, Foegele is beginning to develop an old-school disdain for his former team, as seen in a recent video shared by the Kings.
"I hate them too. I hate the Oilers, too; it's just part of the gig," Foegele said when asked about being on a team with such an intense rivalry with his former team.
The Kings understandably have cause to detest the Oilers, having met them in the first round of the playoffs for three consecutive years, and lost each time to Edmonton. With the two meeting again this year, tensions are sure to be high.
While Foegele's statement was made with a grin and a chuckle, there is likely some genuine sentiment behind it.
On the ice, Foegele is thriving in his first year with the Kings. Off a career-high year with Edmonton last season, he's on track to surpass those numbers, with 22 goals and 42 points in 73 games.
Oilers forward Viktor Arvidsson, who spent three seasons with the Kings, may have similar mixed feelings, although there was no leaked video of him bashing his former team.
When and if these two squads next cross paths, Foegele's presence and growing rivalry will add another element of intensity to an already hotly contested matchup.
