Tonight, reports have surfaced indicating that former Edmonton Oilers forward Corey Perry has suffered a potentially significant injury just days before training camp.

During the NHL offseason, Corey Perry was one of several veterans players to leave the Edmonton Oilers for a new home.
He decided to sign with the Los Angeles Kings in free agency as he looks to return to the Stanley Cup Finals for the 6th time in the last 7 seasons.
Yesterday, Perry took the ice for the first time with the Kings bringing a lot of excitement to Los Angeles and Kings fans.
Perry was expected to be a key piece of this Los Angeles Kings lineup that is looking to knock his former team in Edmonton off the mountain top.
Unfortunately that excitement has quickly turned to shock and disappointment as Perry reportedly suffered an injury during a training session today.

According to reports from multiple sources, Perry suffered an injury while training in the gym and had to be taken out in a wheelchair.
As of now the exact nature and severity of Perry's injury is unknown but the initial optics of the situation are not good.
If Perry is out for an extended period of time the Los Angeles Kings could have to go hunting on the free agent or trade market for another forward to fill the massive hole that now will be in their lineup.
As the situation continues to develop and there is more information on Perry's status for the season we will pass along the latest news.
