Tristan Jarry was meant to calm the Edmonton Oilers crease, but this goalie rotation with Connor Ingram still feels like chaos.

On December 12, Edmonton flipped 27-year-old Stuart Skinner, a 2017 third round Oilers pick, plus Brett Kulak and a 2029 second.
In came 30-year-old Tristan Jarry, who was Pittsburgh's 2013 second rounder, and winger Sam Poulin.
The hope was simple, give Connor McDavid a steadier night between the pipes.
Instead, the Oilers are 26-19-8 and still talking about "who starts" every other morning.
Ingram's line is the one that pops, 5-3-1 with a .909 save percentage and 2.40 goals against.
Jarry sits at 5-2-1 with an .880 and 3.12, while Calvin Pickard has a .871 and 3.68.
If Edmonton isn't trading for a true superstar goalie, stop pretending a "tandem" will magically settle itself.
Run a real three-goalie rotation and lean into the chaos, with 33-year-old Pickard, a 2010 second round Colorado pick, staying involved.
Play whoever is hottest, then ride him until the saves dry up.

Tristan Jarry and Edmonton Oilers still chasing calm

Oilers fans are exhausted by the nightly sweat, because one soft goal still swings the whole mood in the building.
Knoblauch can protect his team by keeping legs fresh and reads sharp, especially through travel and back-to-backs.
Carrying three goalies is awkward, but so is watching Pickard rust while you hunt "consistency" that never arrives.
Ingram also turns 29 in March, a 2016 third round Tampa Bay pick, so there's no reason to treat him like a temporary fix.
For Monday's game, the rule is easy: the last strong start earns the crease, no politics.
At this point, the Oilers don't need a starter, they need saves, and they need them right now.
