Edmonton Oilers players Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Mattias Ekholm all got together for some outdoor hockey to stay fresh between the Christmas break.

There's nothing like staying fresh during a short break in play, and that's what several members of the Edmonton Oilers are doing now that the holiday break is upon us.
Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Mattias Ekholm and their significant others all joined one another for some informal outdoor hockey not even 24 hours after the Oilers beat the Calgary Flames 5-1 at Rogers Place.
The Oilers will want to enjoy some well-earned family time during the holiday break and then return to the ice rested and ready to go when the schedule resumes on Saturday against the Flames, but this time in Calgary.

Both Connor McDavid And Leon Draisaitl Helped Pound The Divisional Foe Calgary Flames Into Submission Before The Break

Before all NHL teams broke for the Christmas break, the Oilers and their divisional foe Calgary Flames played one another on Tuesday night.
It was no contest, as the struggling Flames lost 5-1 at Rogers Place thanks to a hat trick from Draisaitl and five assists from McDavid.
After the game, Draisaitl said that it must be a nightmare for Edmonton's opposition to have to play McDavid.
It tilts the ice. He's obviously feeling it. We've all seen it plenty of times in his career. The puck is following him right now. He's just too good right now. That's not fun to play against. - Leon Draisaitl

Head coach Kris Knoblauch said that Edmonton's success starts with both McDavid and Draisaitl, and it was a prime example of it on Tuesday.
You look at the way the team's rolling right now, winning a lot more games and it starts with those two. They are playing extremely well, that's an understatement. - Kris Knoblauch

Both McDavid and Draisaitl lead the NHL in respective scoring in December.
