The Oilers have been linked to forwards Max Pacioretty and Klim Kostin, and goalies Ilya Samsonov and Alexandar Georgiev in PTOs by NHL analyst Rob Couch.

The Edmonton Oilers are not finished making offseason moves just yet. Despite making solid trades, creating cap room, and opening up space for younger players, there is still room to add depth, particularly on cheap deals.
While trades remain a possibility with training camp just a month away, the sooner path may be professional tryouts (PTOs), which are starting to ramp up across the league.
Up front, Edmonton has been connected by NHL analyst Rob Couch to Max Pacioretty and Klim Kostin. In net, Ilya Samsonov and Alexandar Georgiev have both been brought up.
Goaltending is still the largest question mark. With a new goalie coach coming in, Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard will have the opportunity to show that coaching was the problem, not them. That said, a safety net is reasonable.

Ilya Samsonov Would be the Best Goalie PTO Option for the Oilers

Ilya Samsonov appears to be the better option, with more recent success and the potential to split time with Stuart Skinner.
Alexandar Georgiev, on the other hand, has struggled even behind a solid Colorado Avalanche lineup, which makes him less attractive.
Up front, Max Pacioretty would provide scoring talent and veteran experience, although his age and injury history make him a gamble.
Edmonton lost Corey Perry this summer, and though Pacioretty is a different player, his presence might still assist in a leadership capacity. Klim Kostin, meanwhile, would be a more familiar name.
He excelled during his previous time in Edmonton, and although things didn't work out after he departed, a reunion might provide the Oilers with additional grit and depth.
With camp on the horizon, expect Edmonton to stay busy rather than quiet. The roster is close, but it's not complete.
