The party continues for Stanley Cup-winning coach Paul Maurice, as he took the trophy to Winnipeg and celebrated with it at the famous Lake of the Woods.

Former Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice enjoyed his second straight Stanley Cup victory in vintage fashion this summer. Like last year, the 58-year-old Florida Panthers coach brought hockey's holy grail to places close to his heart.
Following a Cup-raising in Florida, the Sault Ste. Marie-born coach landed in Winnipeg before throwing another party at his family cottage on Lake of the Woods.
And later on Saturday, friends and family were also invited to indulge in a summer barbecue in the forest, where the back-to-back champion took photos with the Cup and reminisced about his remarkable run in Florida.

Paul Maurice Took the Jets as far as the Third Round Back in 2018

Paul Maurice sat nine years behind the Jets bench, taking them to the 2018 Western Conference Final but not beyond.
The Jets have only made it to the second round once since that playoff run, losing to Vegas and then Dallas following good regular-season performances.
In spite of that, Maurice remains a highly popular individual in Manitoba. By winning his first championship in 2024, he became etched in history for looking into the camera and wishing Winnipeg "the next Stanley Cup."
The Jets took the Presidents' Trophy last year but were thwarted by Dallas, whereas Maurice's Panthers proceeded to claim a second consecutive title.
With daughter Sydney now teaching at St. Maurice, Winnipeg has strong ties. The NHL's third-winningest coach will likely keep going back to the province, Cup or not.
Each time Maurice returns, it serves as a reminder of both his deep roots in the community and of the deep connection Winnipeg fans have with the former leader of their team.
