Tonight, insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Edmonton Oilers tried to trade for a goalie but were unable to due to Tristan Jarry.
The Edmonton Oilers have struggled immensely to find consistent goaltending to compliment Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Earlier this year, the Oilers traded for Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry hoping he would step up and be a solid starter.
Unfortunately, Jarry struggled leaving GM Stan Bowman looking for other options hoping to make a change once again at the trade deadline.
However, Jarry reportedly has played so poorly with the Oilers that many teams deemed him undesirable making a move nearly impossible for Edmonton.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Oilers were planning to once again trade their starting goalie this time hoping to move Jarry for a new option.
Unfortunately for Bowman, when he scoured the market for an upgrade, no team was willing to take on Jarry and his contract as part of the deal.

Jarry, 30, has two more seasons on his contract but has reportedly struggled to fit in with the Oilers making his future in Edmonton very uncertain.
While the Oilers couldn't move Jarry at the deadline, a trade this offseason seems almost certain as Edmonton looks to take another gamble in the net with a new face.
With Jarry's struggles Stan Bowman might have to trade him in a salary dump to move on and give someone else an opportunity.
