Edmonton Oilers call-up fan favourite prospect to replace forward placed on injured reserve
After announcing that they put forward Noah Philp on Long Term Injured Reserve, the Edmonton Oilers announced that they called up Connor Clattenburg from the American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield Condors.
The Edmonton Oilers announced that they have put forward Noah Philp onto Long Term Injured Reserve, but that necessitated a call up from the American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield Condors.
The Oilers have called up Connor Clattenburg from the Condors:
Clattenburg could be in the lineup for the Oilers when they play the Florida Panthers, who have beaten them in each of the last two Stanley Cup Final matchups tomorrow.
Clatteburg was taken with the 160th overall pick by the Oilers in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, but he has yet to play in a single NHL game.
He has a reputation of being an enforcer-style player and has spent plenty of time throughout his career in the penalty box. Last Saturday, he was thrown out of a game for getting into two fights in the same night.
After that game, he said that nobody is going to stop him from his trademark tough style of play.
That's what's going to get me to the next level. If they want to toss me for doing that stuff, then go ahead. I'm going to keep playing that way. Nothing's going to stop me.
So far this year, he has two points (1G, 1A) but already has 59 PIM in just 15 games.
When he played for the OHL's Soo Greyhounds in 2022-23, he had 115 PIM in 56 games, and also had 108 PIM in 46 games with the OHL's Flint Firebirds last year in which he was their captain.
