Vancouver Canucks make newly-acquired forward available in trade talks, per Rick Dhaliwal
According to NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal, the Canucks are making newly-acquired forward Lukas Reichel available in trade talks going forward.
With the Vancouver Canucks in desperate need of some help down the middle, partly due to injuries, general manager Patrik Allvin went out onto the trade market and acquired German centerman Lukas Reichel from the Chicago Blackhawks.
What the Canucks gave up to acquire Lukas Reichel
In exchange, the Canucks sent a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft the other way. Now, just a few weeks after this trade occurred, it appears the team is ready to move on from Reichel, according to insider Rick Dhaliwal.

In a recent article for The Province, Ben Kuzma believes that with the Canucks recently signing David Kampf to a one-year, $1.1 million contract, it could spell the end of Reichel's time at center and with the team, period.
Why the Canucks could attempt to place Lukas Reichel on the wing
Kuzma also said that by placing Reichel on the wing, he will have fewer responsibilities and could even lead to an increase in offensive production, if put with the right players, but it depends on whether they see him as a permanent fit there.
Clearly, based on this latest update by Rick Dhaliwal, it appears that the team isn't too confident with that idea and would rather see what they can get on the market for him.
If the Canucks can find a way to get Reichel going, that'll be a big boost for his trade value. And if the team ultimately decides to keep him, it would be a big help to their bottom-six group, as they have been lacking in that department lately.
