<a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Edmonton Oilers</a> captain Connor McDavid did something last night that only three other players in NHL history accomplished, scoring 100 points in eight seasons. Connor McDavid wrapped up his 10th NHL season <a href='https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/edmonton-oilers/connor-mcdavid-hits-100-edmonton-oilers-hit-101-and-thats-a-wrap' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>with another milestone in the books</a>. The Edmonton Oilers' captain recorded an assist on a Ty Emberson goal on Wednesday night in a contest against <a href='https://www.nhl.com/sharks/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the San Jose Sharks</a>, his 100th point of the 2024-25 season. With that, McDavid joined the company of all-time greats <a href='https://www.markerzone.com/hockey/stats/nhl/player/Wayne-Gretzky-1009' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Wayne Gretzky</a>, <a href='https://www.markerzone.com/hockey/stats/nhl/player/Mario-Lemieux-220' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Mario Lemieux</a>, and <a href='https://www.markerzone.com/hockey/stats/nhl/player/Marcel-Dionne-2294' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Marcel Dionne</a> as just the fourth player in NHL history with eight 100-point seasons. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/NHL/status/1912702422792683651'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> <h3>McDavid is now seven seasons back of the all-time record held by Wayne Gretzky</h3> Gretzky holds the record with 15 such seasons, Lemieux did it 10 times, and Dionne eight. McDavid finishes the regular season with 26 goals and 74 assists. <img src='https://i.marqueur.com/habsetlnh/i/photo/550488.webp' width='100%' border='0' alt='image' loading='lazy' defer /> <a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/player/connor-mcdavid-8478402' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>McDavid</a> topped the Oilers in assists and was second on the team in scoring behind Leon Draisaitl, who had 106 points (52 goals, 54 assists). Edmonton completed the season 48-29-5 for 101 points, <a href='https://www.nhl.com/standings/2025-04-17/wildcard' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>third in the Pacific Division</a>. <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/edmonton-oilers/social-media-clues-may-have-just-leaked-the-oilers-first-round-playoff-schedule' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>They'll play the Los Angeles Kings in Round 1</a> of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, a familiar foe, as it will be the fourth straight postseason the clubs have played in Round 1. Edmonton has prevailed each time. <a href='https://www.markerzone.com/hockey/stats/nhl/draft.php?a=2015' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Selected first overall in 2015</a>, McDavid has lived up to and surpassed all expectations. His accolades and awards include five Art Ross Trophies, four Ted Lindsay Awards, three Hart Trophies, and a Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy. His finest season so far was in 2022-23, when he scored 64 goals and 89 assists for 153 points, the highest since Lemieux in 1995-96. Only Lemieux, Gretzky, and Steve Yzerman have ever had more points in a single season.
