Bob Stauffer said on X yesterday that "internal movement" could hit today, and I'm treating it as his read, not a leak.

That wording matters because it usually points to recalls, waivers, or paper transactions, not a splash trade.
Edmonton is 29-24-8 right now, and the margin in the Pacific is thin enough that one lineup tweak can swing a week.
Connor McDavid has already hit 100 points, and the stars have carried a lot of the weight again.
But Saturday's 5-4 loss in San Jose showed how messy it gets when the group chases the game and the details slip.
"Don't be surprised if tomorrow, there is a little bit of movement internally within the Oilers organization."

- Bob Stauffer
So what could "internal" actually mean today?
Start with goaltending. Tristan Jarry is 15-7-2 with a .890 save percentage, and Connor Ingram is 7-5-1 with a .899, so the team has options if they want to manage workload.

Bob Stauffer and the Edmonton Oilers feel restless

Oilers fans can feel that itchy, deadline-adjacent tension, where even a quiet morning feels loud.
A recall is the cleanest path. The club already used Josh Samanski, a 23-year-old undrafted forward, as a quick in-and-out earlier this winter.
Isaac Howard is another name that fits "internal." He's 21, drafted 2022 Round 1 by Tampa Bay, and he's logged 2-3-5 in 28 games, which is enough to justify another look in a bottom-six spot.
The timing also screams cap housekeeping. Banking space for Monday often starts with tiny moves that look pointless until the math shows up.
If something happens today, I'm betting it's a roster lever, not a roster rewrite.
And if nothing happens, Stauffer's phrasing still tells you the organization is actively shopping for a better mix before the next game.
