Big trouble brewing for NHL franchise as their arena needs $60 million in repair

The Blue Jackets have been playing out of their arena for roughly 25 years, and signs of wear and tear have begun to appear. Now, the Blue Jackets organization will be required to shell out close to $60 million in order to fix a long list of issues, if they want to ensure their long-term survival in Columbus. The Hockey News' Jason Newland has provided the lengthy list of repairs required.

This list of repairs is just the beginning, as there are several other, non-urgent repairs needed as well, but if the Blue Jackets want to ensure Gary Bettman allows them to remain in Columbus, they will need to have these critical issues repaired ASAP.

The good news for the Blue Jackets is that they won't have to foot the bill all by themselves, as multiple other organizations use this arena, so costs will likely be split, but time is definitely of the essence.
