Tom Wilson drops the “feral beast” label, then backs it up for Team Canada at the 2026 Olympics with real stakes and real edge.

A post making the rounds says the old caricature was never fair, and honestly, it lines up with what we’re seeing in Milan.

Sunday, Wilson dropped the gloves late against France after a high forearm caught Nathan MacKinnon, and he got ejected for it.

That’s the brawn part, but the bigger tell is where Canada keeps putting him in the lineup.

Wilson’s 2025-26 NHL line sits at 23-26-49, the offense is real enough that you cannot just ignore him.

With McDavid, the job is simple, win walls, go net-front, and make defenders miserable without taking Canada off the rails.

A lot of fans still brace for the dumb penalty, but this tournament is showing why coaches keep betting on him anyway.
