Tonight, a new report has confirmed that the Winnipeg Jets, led by Kevin Cheveldayoff, are expected to trade multiple veteran players before the trade deadline.

The Winnipeg Jets are in the midst of an unexpectedly bad season which began with a crushing injury to MVP goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and was followed by several other big injuries.
Since then, the Jets have not found consistency and are now outside of the Stanley Cup Playoffs down the stretch heading into the NHL trade deadline.
Going into the Olympic break, insiders were unsure whether the Jets would be buyers and try to get back into the race or sellers and build for the future instead.
Now, a report from David Pagnotta has suggested that the Jets will look to move multiple players on expiring contracts.

Winnipeg Jets expected to move on from veterans on expiring deals

According to Pagnotta, the Jets will primarily be sellers, getting rid of players on expiring deals.
In addition, GM Kevin Cheveldayoff still wants to stay in the playoff race by adding players to support Cole Perfetti on the Jets second line.
David Pagnotta: Re Jets trade deadline: They're gonna by all accounts sell those [UFA] pieces, but...offensively it's been a challenge for them beyond that first line, and that's still something that Cheveldayoff and the staff in Winnipeg wanna address - The Sheet (2/13)
Players currently on expiring deals and open to potential trade include Gustav Nyquist, Luke Schenn, Jonathan Toews, Logan Stanley, Tanner Pearson, Colin Miller, and a handful of others.
Today’s report from Pagnotta expands upon an earlier report, in which he highlighted adding a player to help Perfetti as a key objective for Cheveldayoff and the Jets front office.
As the Olympics come to an end, it will be fascinating to see if Cheveldayoff and the Jets can pull off a big trade to clear out some salary and bring in a talented young player to pair with Perfetti for the future.
