It was a special scene in Milan for the first official Team Canada practice in which linemates Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini and Tom Wilson all skated together.

The Olympics are here, and it will be Canada hoping to win yet another gold medal to build on their gold medal wins of 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi.
To nobody's surprise, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid was one of the first players chosen for Canada, along with Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.
Also chosen for Canada, thanks to his unbelievable second year in the NHL, is San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini, who debuted in Canada's first practice playing on the first line along with McDavid and Tom Wilson of the Washington Capitals.
Talking with TSN analyst Mark Masters, Wilson said he was excited to play with both McDavid and Celebrini.
Obviously, two of the best players in the world. A lot of skill. A lot of IQ. A lot of speed. Get them the puck, it’ll be in good hands, and get to the net. I think pretty much everyone out there was acclimating to each other, getting used to each other, and leaning on each other. The first day is always fun. It’s going to be exciting to build on it. - Tom Wilson

Canada will play Czechia first on Thursday.

Tom Wilson Was Chosen To Represent Canada

Wilson, who won a Stanley Cup with the Capitals in 2018, said that he's ready to do whatever is asked of him and that it means a lot that he was picked to play for Canada.
It means a lot. For me, it doesn’t matter where I am. I’m going to try to play my game, do my thing, and I’ll do whatever it takes for this country. If I’m playing with Connor, I’ll try to help him in any way I can and help this team win. Doesn’t matter what role it is for me, I’m going to do my best, I’m going to work hard. Just, for now, have a lot of fun, soak it all in, go over the systems, all the new and all the different, and hopefully hit the ground running here in a couple days. - Tom Wilson

So far this year with the Capitals, Wilson has 49 points (23G, 26A) in 50 games.
