Connor McDavid speaks to the media for the first time since arriving at the Olympic Games

This evening, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid spoke to the media for the first time since arriving in Italy for the 2026 Olympic Games.
The NHL is finally returning to the Olympic Games in 2026 as players arrived over the last several days in Milan, Italy for the best on best tournament.
Today, Team Canada arrived featuring some of the game’s biggest stars including Oilers’ captain Connor McDavid.
Upon his arrival to the Olympic Village, McDavid was met by media as the team disembarked their bus and was able to give a quick interview.

When getting off of the team bus, McDavid was pulled aside by TSN reporter Ryan Rishaug who asked McDavid for his thoughts on playing in the Olympics.
McDavid confirmed he is excited for the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent his country in the Olympics.
McDavid was then seen heading into the Olympic Village where the team has the option to stay or instead stay in NHLPA set up housing instead.
This will be McDavid first opportunity to play in the Olympics as NHL players are back in the competition for the first time since the 2014 Olympic Games which took place in Sochi, Russia.
Heading into the tournament, McDavid has been at peak performance with 96 points in 58 games overall and 14 in his last 10 games with the Oilers
McDavid and Canada will kick off their Olympic campaign and quest for a gold medal against Czechia on February 12th.
