The Canadiens make a personnel move involving David Reinbacher

The Habs made David Reinbacher their 1st-round pick, 5th overall, last June. A few days later, the Austrian signed his entry-level contract with the team, even before Connor Bedard signed his with the Blackhawks.

Since then, the defenseman has returned to Switzerland to take part in his team's training camp. To do so, the CH had to agree to loan him out. It goes without saying, then, that in order to have him at rookie and NHL camp, he had to be recalled.

According to CapFriendly, that's just been done.

Barring a rather major surprise, the young man will return to Switzerland after the CH camp to play one more season there. It's next summer that all hope will be allowed in his case.

An important point here: we can see just how much mutual support there is between the Habs and a team from the Swiss Elite League. It's exactly the opposite with the KHL, where NHL teams have absolutely no power over player development.
