If there is one thing we appreciate about Samuel Montembeault, it's his honesty, because he is always very honest with the media.

In Montreal, some might say a little too much, because recently, the Quebec goalie revealed an important piece of information, inside the Habs, that had never been revealed before.
Here is the statement of the latter.
"Last year, the team told us we were going into a rebuild." - Samuel Montembeault

Already the Habs management never publicly mentioned that the team would enter a rebuild, even though publicly we all knew quite a bit that this was the case, this is the first time we hear that Kent Hughes and the Tricolore's managers told the team's players that the organization was going into a rebuild.
This means that all of the Habs players have known since last year that the team was going to rebuild its roster, which means that many pieces of the team suspect that they may be on the chopping block right now.
In a way, this explains some of the things the CH have done since the beginning of the season, like the inexplicable reasoning of giving millions of chances to veterans that seemed to sink the club more than help it at the beginning of the season.
One thing is for sure, it also means that Martin St-Louis has to deal with assets that may be unhappy with their situation on the team, but also with being on a team that does not aspire to win next year.
The situation can't be easy for a rookie coach like St-Louis.
