Michael Pezzetta took part in a controversial and disturbing fight yesterday against Bowen Byram

A disturbing and controversial fight between Michael Pezzetta and Bowen Byram broke out.

Why was this fight disturbing and controversial?

Because the young Colorado defender has a long history of concussions. He even came close to having to end his professional career, as he was only 21 years old at the time.

In fact, The Athletic's Marc-Antoine Godin criticized Pezzetta's decision to throw down the gauntlet against Byram.

In defense of the Canadiens' feisty forward, the two players were shuffling quite a bit before they started the fight. However, under the circumstances, we must mention that everyone acted very well, including Pezzetta, who held back from hitting his opponent too hard.

It ended up being a wrestling match rather than a punching match.

Still, you really don't want to see a guy like Byram fighting too often. The man who was the fourth overall pick in the 2019 draft has too much talent to have to abruptly end his career over a silly fight.
