The Winnipeg Jets have made a historical announcement on X a few minutes ago.

Jets' ECHL Affiliate Signs First Female Player

We learned that the woman goalie Mariah Fujimagari signed an Ebug contract with the Norfold Admirals, the Jets' ECHL affiliate team.
"Note: In uniform as the emergency backup goaltender for @NorfolkAdmirals in tonight's game at @RailersHC is Mariah Fujimagari. After attending training camp w/ @KalamazooWings, this'll be her first time on the bench for a regular-season ECHL game."

Fujimagari had already gotten experience in the ECHL. Last summer, she attended the Kalamazoo Wings' training camp of the Vancouver Canucks' ECHL affiliate on a tryout contract.
Of course, as an Ebug, she might not even play. She'll only be eligible to play if the starting goalie gets injured or receives a game misconduct.
Updates and details will follow.
