An analyst has made a very controversial trade proposal involving Juraj Slafkovsky and the New York Rangers

Today, on BPM Sports, the colorful RDS analyst Norman Flynn made a statement that caused a huge reaction on social networks.

Juraj Slafkovsky.

What do you think?" - BPM Sports

See part of his explanation:

"One for one, I Slafkovsky has not shown me anything, to date, that would be a top, that would be the face of that team. To date, I have not seen anything of that to date. [...] Lafrenière, you're going to have to pay for it."

In short:

Slafkovsky-Lafreniere: "if I'm the Rangers, I'm doing it!" - Norman Flynn

No need to tell you that this is a controversial trade proposal that has generated a lot of reaction.

In my opinion, this deal would be completely illogical for the Habs to make. From a simple administrative standpoint, Slafkovsky is nearly three years younger than Lafreniere and is in the first year of his NHL entry-level contract, which means he won't cost the organization much for at least two more seasons.

As for the Quebecer, his contract ends this summer. He will have to negotiate a new contract that should cost the New York Rangers several millions per season.

Remember that this is not the first time that Flynn has proposed a controversial trade involving a young player in the organization. In the past, the analyst also took a position on trades involving Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, before their emergence.

Needless to say, the trades he proposed would have been a disaster for the franchise.

Just for fun, let's throw out his question: would you make the Slafkovsky for Lafreniere trade, if you were the Habs GM?
