This evening, the Calgary Flames have pulled off a blockbuster trade sending Rasmus Andersson to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Over the last several weeks, the Calgary Flames and GM Craig Conroy have been shopping around veteran defenseman Rasmus Andersson who is on an expiring deal.
The Flames are clearly in a rebuild and have been looking to find a new home for Rasmus Andersson so he can go and chase a Stanley Cup.
Tonight, a destination has been found as Andersson has been traded to the Vegas Golden Knights.

According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, the Flames have traded Andersson to the Golden Knights pending an upcoming trade call.
According to Frank Seravalli, Andersson will be traded to Vegas without a contract extension in place which is an unexpected development.
As of now, the details of the return are unknown, however the Flames are expected to get a significant return for Andersson that can help them build for the future.
An update given by Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that Zach Whitecloud, Abram Weibe, and a pair of draft picks will be the return for Andersson.
