Vancouver Giants receive major fine after inappropriate comments from front office member

Today, the Vancouver Giants of the WHL are facing a major fine from the league after inappropriate comments made during an interview by one of their scouts.
The Western Hockey League recently conducted their entry level draft kicking off the offseason for the league.
The Vancouver Giants held a premium first round pick and happily selected defenseman Eli Vickers.
After the first round, Giants scout Terry Bonner spoke to the media and faced backlash after comments made to reporter Cami Kepke.
When asked a question about the Giants first round pick Eli Vickers by Kepke, Bonner responded by first commenting on Kepke's physical appearance followed by a mocking laugh.

This comment from Bonner sparked outrage from a large portion of the hockey community and now has led to a hefty fine for the Giants.
Vancouver Giants fined for inappropriate comments from front office member
According to multiple reports, the Giants will now be fined $5,000 for Bonner's inappropriate remarks towards Kepke.
The Vancouver Giants were fined $5,000 by the WHL for remarks made by head scout Terry Bonner.
This entire situation has once again sparked a conversation over the culture of hockey as whole and whether major reform is needed to help everyone feel welcomed and supported within the sport.
With the fine now handed out, it will be interesting to see if the Giants issue a statement or if they take any further action with Bonner.
