A popular Dallas podcaster stirred up a lot of anger in Edmonton yesterday with his comments, as he said the Stars will dispose of the Oilers rather quickly. For many years, veteran NHL netminder and Dallas Stars TV play-by-play announcer Daryl Reaugh, who also contributes to the team's official podcast 'Podman Rush', thinks the Stars could sweep the Oilers should Edmonton encounter some of the same speed bumps that have hampered them in past playoff runs. I honestly think that the Stars can flush them in in relatively short order. I do. If the Oil are forced to overcome like some of what we've seen in past. - Daryl Reaugh He is particularly dubious of Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner, who has not been consistent at all. I think he has the ability to play out of his mind, but he can play shaky too. And that's Stuart Skinner. Yeah, like if they get saves and they have the checking thirst that they displayed against the Golden Knights, then this is going to be a seven game classic, I think. But if those things aren't in place, I think they I think it could it could be a shorter series. I really do. Both the Stars and the Oilers are outstanding clubs with a shot to win the series. Nevertheless, it is improbable that Dallas could sweep Edmonton effortlessly.

Loading from Twitter ...

The Oilers are on a roll, winning eight of their last nine playoff games
After a stunning eight of their last nine playoff game wins against two strong teams, Vegas and Los Angeles, the Oilers are on a roll. With eight series wins in their last eleven games, Edmonton has set a new playoff record since 2022. The only three teams to beat them, Florida in 2024, Vegas in 2023, and Colorado in 2022, went on to win the Stanley Cup. The Oilers dominated most of the play, even in two of those defeats. They produced 2.5 more high-quality scoring opportunities per game against Vegas in 2023, and they had an even bigger difference (4.3 per game) against Florida in 2024. Their opponents had superior goaltending in both instances, and they lost in the net. Whichever team has the better goalie will probably advance to the Finals. As we saw in last night's game between the Panthers and Hurricanes, Sergei Bobrovsky was fantastic in goal for Florida, and due to this reason, they were able to easily dispose of Carolina.
