<a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>The Edmonton Oilers</a> lost in stunning fashion in Game 3, and while many want to blame Stuart Skinner, his Head Coach has praised him for his performance. Once again, Game 3 of this series between the Edmonton Oilers and <a href='https://www.nhl.com/goldenknights/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Vegas Golden Knights</a> was dramatic until the very end, with the road team sealing the victory with just 0.4 seconds remaining on the clock. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/nhl/status/1921411811389104253'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> After misplaying the puck in that key moment, there's been plenty of criticism for Stuart Skinner on social media after the game. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/joea_nfl/status/1921411607617310798'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/producerdrew_/status/1921411849817350298'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> However, following the loss, Head Coach Kris Knoblauch has praised how Skinner played throughout. «It was a rough situation to come in. He made some really good saves for us. There were no bad goals. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/jasongregor/status/1921419802251301282'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> In the game, Skinner saw a total of 24 shots, with the final one being the goal that handed Vegas the 4-3 victory on the night, so while the numbers certainly don't look good, he toughed it out the whole game and made some big saves to keep the team in it throughout. Unfortunately though, this performance has only gone and cemented Calvin Pickard as the teams likely starter for the remainder of this series providing he is healthy, and if he's not, the Oilers fans will be frustrated to see them turn to Skinner once again for Game 4. After posting a 2.45 GAA and a .901 save percentage in Edmonton's run to the Stanley Cup Finals a year ago, Skinner has a dreadful .817 save percentage and a 5.36 GAA after Saturday nights performance, and if the team are to go deep again, it's more likely than not that they won't want to turn to Skinner again.
