Mark Stone Officially Ruled Out of Game 3 After Scary Collision With Corey Perry
Tonight the Vegas Golden Knights have suffered a major blow to their lineup as star forward Mark Stone has been ruled out.
Heading into tonight's matchup, the Golden Knights were perceived to have a major advantage as the Edmonton Oilers would be without starting goalie Calvin Pickard.
Unfortunately for the Golden Knights, things would not go to plan as they would go down 2-0 early in the first period.
Despite making a comeback on the scoreboard and tying things up 2-2, the night has taken a terrible turn for Vegas as star forward Mark Stone has been ruled out after a frustrating collision.
On the play, Stone seems to innocently lose and edge and go sliding into the boards on what looked to be a harmless collision with Corey Perry.
Stone looks to be going in for a hit when Perry avoids him leading Stone to fall awkwardly into the boards.
At the time of the injury, there was hope that Stone would be able to return to the lineup for the stretch run however that now has been confirmed to not be the case.
Reports have now confirmed Stone will not return to the lineup and head coach Bruce Cassidy has confirmed the Golden Knights will now have to scramble to fill the hole in their lineup.
Unfortunately, both the Golden Knights and Oilers are dealing with significant injuries that could play a major part in the outcome of this exhilarating Stanley Cup Playoff series
As more reports come in confirming Stone's health and status going forward we will pass the latest news along to you.
