Following Game 1 of the Stars-Oilers series and prior to Game 2, Pete DeBoer made some comments that came off as icy regarding McDavid and Draisaitl. Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer credited Miro Heiskanen and Miko Rantanen for their 6-3 comeback win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday. DeBoer compared Heiskanen and Rantanen to Edmonton superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, referring to them as Dallas' versions of the super Oilers duo. He's a game changer for us. 24 minutes, 1-1-2 tonight, he changes our team. We survived the first round and a half without him, but he's our difference maker. Him and Rantanen are our McDavid and Draisaitl. So it's nice to have him back. - Pete DeBoer

Loading from Twitter ...

Heiskanen sparked the Stars' third-period rally with a power-play goal at 32 seconds to cut the margin to 3-2. Dallas tacked on three consecutive power-play goals in completing the rally.
Heiskanen is averaging a point-per-game since returning from injury
Heiskanen, who returned in Game 4 of the first round against Winnipeg following a knee injury that had kept him out since January, has tallied four points in four playoff contests. It doesn't matter if we're down two goals, however many goals, we never quit. There's always a chance to come back and we feel like if we play like that, and play in their zone more, it's always a chance to win. Great third. If we keep doing that, it's going to be good. - Miro Heiskanen Tyler Seguin led the Stars with two goals, and Esa Lindell, Matt Duchene, and Mikael Granlund also tallied. Goalie Jake Oettinger made 24 saves in the win. Evan Bouchard, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored for the Oilers, and Stuart Skinner made 22 saves in the defeat. Game 2 goes Friday night back in Dallas, Texas.
