Evander Kane's Strong Playoffs Used to Embarrass Auston Matthews in Viral Post

While Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl get most of the headlines, it's actually Evander Kane who's emerging as the difference-maker for the Oilers in these playoffs.

After battling through injuries the past couple of years, Kane is now healthy, and it's paying dividends. A speedy goal-scorer with a physical presence, Kane adds a gritty, aggressive dynamic that the Oilers have so sorely missed.

When he's hot, he's not only scoring, but he's also making the other team miserable. His Game 4 of Round 2 work against the Vegas Golden Knights was an example. Kane had one goal and one assist, but his real value came in front of the net.

He bugged goaltender Adin Hill all night long, stuck himself in the crease, and skated with boundless energy. He skated with a purpose, created chaos in the offensive end, and bugged Vegas' top players, exactly what you want out of a playoff contributor.

That kind of presence is what allowed the Oilers to build a 3-1 series lead. Kane's presence on the ice goes beyond the scoresheet, as he possesses an advantage that cannot be duplicated.

Put into context, there is a viral online metric that suggests the size of Kane's clutch: in spite of sitting out most of the regular season on LTIR, Kane has four playoff goals under his belt, one more than Auston Matthews has in his last 20 games of the playoffs.
