Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill provides an update on Jason Robertson trade saga

Tonight, Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill spoke to the media and was able to give an update on the Jason Robertson trade saga as well as Robertson's future in Dallas.
Jason Robertson's future with the Dallas Stars has been the main topic of conversation across the NHL so far this summer.
Heading into the NHL Draft, reports suggested that the Stars were looking to move Robertson after failed extension talks took place.
At one point, a report revealed that the Stars had agreed to a deal with the Seattle Kraken but that Robertson declined the trade and refused an extension from the Kraken as well.
Now, GM Jim Nill spoke out and cleared the air regarding these reports and their plans with Jason Robertson.

During his press conference, Nill first confirmed that the Stars did discuss a trade with Seattle but never officially agreed to a deal.
He also admitted that extension talks with Robertson continue and that the Stars preference is to re-sign him long-term.
Jim Nill confirmed that there was a trade for Jason Robertson with Seattle that he ultimately did not agree to but said they are still actively trying to sign him.

Now, it will be up to Robertson to determine how much money and term is enough for him to commit to the Stars and forego free agency altogether.
