The Oilers have been one of the most disappointing teams in the entire NHL this season but they are finally starting to turn things around. However, they may be without two key players in the short-term.

Key Oilers Stars Missing From Practice

Oilers reporter Ryan Rishaug reported this morning that two Oilers star players were unexpectedly missing from practice. The to players in question are Darnell Nurse and Evander Kane.
The Oilers do not play again until December 6th when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes. As a result, this could just be a maintenance day for the star players but it remains unclear as to exactly why they were not at practice. It is believed that they are dealing with minor, undisclosed injuries.
The Oilers have suddenly gotten hot as they have rattled off four wins in a row and seven of their last ten.
Zach Hyman discussed how new head coach Chris Knoblauch has given the team a jolt of life.
The Oilers are currently 7th in the Pacific division with a 9-12-1 record despite their recent hot streak. However, they have multiple games in hand on almost every other team in the division and that advantage will only grow over their current 6 day break. Whether or not the team can actually get back into a playoff position remains to be seen. Betting against Connor McDavid may be foolish though.
