NHL players are on vacation, but general managers are still working. In fact, you have to wonder if they ever take a vacation.

Kent Hughes is still very busy, even though he probably won't be signing any more free agents this summer. The hot topics are Jesse Ylonen's contract extension and getting rid of one or more forwards.

A rather active observer on Twitter, Randy Timmins, suggested three personnel moves that he thinks would make Kent Hughes look good.

Go CH! Let's trade Armia for Mantha, trade Dvorak for picks and sign Max Comtois. It would be quite a summer!"

Joel Armia has been linked to Washington and Mantha to Montreal in recent weeks. Given the Capitals' precarious payroll, saving more than 2 million would be beneficial, even though Armia has two years left on his contract and Mantha one.

As for Christian Dvorak, it's going to be difficult to trade him. It's going to take a team desperately in need of a center. His contract is too heavy for the production he brings, plus he's currently injured and has had surgery. If Kent Hughes manages to get some picks for him, it will be a stroke of genius.

As for Max Comtois, the main interested party has already mentioned that the Canadiens have not contacted him. Given the circumstances, it would be very surprising if they did, as the CH is trying to offload a number of forwards.
