The NHL's best goalie uses a clever tactic to get around the rules
There are some people who are always trying to bend the rules rather than follow them to the letter. We've just learned that goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy is one of them.
Indeed, the man considered to be the best goalie in the world is currently trying out a new piece of equipment that is causing quite a stir. His new skates are all black, even the blade.
"It will potentially be harder to see the puck over the line if it's along or under his skate. There's no color rule...the only requirement is that the tip of the stick be white ribbon."

It's a very clever trick, and one that may save the Lightning an important goal during the season.
Of course, as with any self-respecting workaround, the league will certainly make a decision about changing this rule, should Vasilevskiy's skates become problematic or more goaltenders imitate this strategy.
