The Canadiens officially lose a promising young defenseman for nothing
As we told you in the last few days, young defenseman Mattias Norlinder was likely to leave the Canadiens and return to Europe.
Not so long ago, he was considered an excellent prospect for the organization, even compared to Erik Karlsson. Let's just say that comparison has aged badly.
TVA Sports now confirms the news: he won't be back.
When you look at the new generation on the blue line today, Norlinder is so far behind, you could almost say we've forgotten his name.
He'll be returning to the SHL, where he'll have to play very solid hockey if he ever wants to get a call from an NHL team. For the time being, he remains under contract with the Canadiens until the end of the 2023-24 season.
