Team Canada Gets Eliminated From the World Junior Championship by Czechia

Team Canada's elimination from the World Junior Championship came as a surprise for many fans, who expect their country to compete for the gold every year.

Unfortunately, that's just an irrealistic approach. Especially in this year's tournament, where many of the country's best players weren't send to compete in Sweden.

Czechia caused the surprise by scoring the game-winning goal with only a few seconds left to the third period.

A shocking truth has been exposed in the aftermath of Team Canada's elimination from the tournament.

Gord Miller, renowned TSN's analyst, called out Canada's fans after reports of hate messages to the players emerged.

Here's his full statement:

"I understand that people in Canada are disappointed with the QF loss, but it's disheartening to hear that some of the players are being subjected to nasty personal messages on social media. There's no need for that, they did their best and lost. Two years ago Canada won a gold medal in OT after a miraculous goal line save by Mason McTavish, last year they won the QF in OT on Conor Bedard's goal after a deflected Slovak shot hit the shaft of Thomas Milic's stick. It happens."

Hockey players certainly don't deserve to receive hate messages or threats when they lose. It's only a game. Unfortunately, some fans like to take things too far.
