Surprising statement: Cole Caufield's contract is already signed
In his most recent appearance on BPM Sports, Drummondville Voltigeurs General Manager and former NHL player Philippe Boucher made a very surprising statement today.
According to him, a deal between the Montreal Canadiens and Cole Caufield is already signed.

Still according to the latter, he says that the main lines would already be written and it would only miss the commas to move on the contract of the number 22.
Clearly, the fact that Caufield dares to pull out of the action, despite the fact that "technically" he could continue to play to boost his value, indicates that the organization has already put the clear outlines on the new deal with its young star, so that he agrees to conclude his season in a hurry.
In other words, the numbers are in and it would be more about finding a good time to announce the contract extension according to Boucher.
