Shortly after acquiring Casey DeSmith, Kent Hughes contacted Samuel Montembeault to tell him not to worry. However, the fact remains that the CH still has three goalies and negotiations for his next contract have not yet begun.

That's what Marc Antoine Godin says, and we have to admit it's worrying. We expected Hughes to start negotiations after signing Jesse Ylonen, but he didn't. Instead, he acquired another goalie.
Well, to be clear, I don't think Hughes' intention was to acquire another goalie, but negotiations with the Penguins led him to that. So it's not bad faith on his part, quite the contrary.
I firmly believe that Monty is part of the CH's plans, and if comparisons are anything to go by, he should sign for around 3 million a year for three years.
