Patrick Marleau's Wife Drops Bombshell About Evander Kane

The statement comes as Kane is in a legal battle with his ex Anna. Apparently, Anna asked Christina to provide a statement about specific events for the court and she obliged. The statement she made was rather shocking, but perhaps not as shocking as it could have been given what we already know about Kane.

The statement details an event in which Kane and an unnamed 'younger' teammate took an unnamed substance at Kane's home. The teammate then reportedly left the house, acting under the influence of the unknown substance, and was missing for several hours throughout the night.

Anna went on to say that former Sharks defenseman, Ryan Merkley, served as a baby-sitter for Kane at least once, but likely multiple times. It is not clear why this was mentioned, but it could be inferred that Merkley is the unnamed younger player in the other story. Until stated otherwise though, we will assume Merkley was not involved in that incident.

Kane has three years left on his current deal with the Oilers at a 5.125 million dollar cap hit.
