NHL poll implicating Cole Caufield does not go down well with fans
The NHL's Twitter account has come up with an interesting way to get hockey fans involved this off-season.
A "who would you take" poll of four young players has been released, and it's not going over well with Habs fans.
The four players are:
- Cole Caufield
- Matt Boldy
- Dawson Mercer
- Dylan Cozens
If you look closely at the comments, people are voting according to the points accumulated by the players so far, which doesn't do Caufield justice, given that he wasn't producing under Dominique Ducharme.
The Canadiens' forward is therefore in 4th place, behind Dawson Mercer, Matt Boldy and Dylan Cozens.

Cozens, the crowd favorite, is a big-bodied center with 119 points in 201 NHL games.
Boldy was great with the Wild last year, even when Kirill Kaprizov was injured. He scored 102 points in 128 games.
Dawson Mercer is dead last, but his stats aren't embarrassing for a 21-year-old. He collected 98 points in 164 games.
As for Cole Caufield, he's quite a scorer, that much we know. Probably the most prolific of the four. He collected 84 points in 123 games, including 53 goals. However, it should be remembered that he spent 30 of his 67 games in 2021-22 under Dominique Ducharme.
In those 30 games, he collected 8 points, including a single goal. In the following 37 games with Martin St-Louis, he scored 22 goals and 13 assists for 39 points.
The question arises. Since Caufield began playing under St-Louis, he has a record of 75 points in 83 games, including 48 goals. He's the best of the four players in terms of points per game and goals.
