NHL Insider confirms massive rumour about Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen
The upcoming NHL trade deadline is seemingly set to be a wild one, with several teams desperate for goaltending help, but none more so than the Edmonton Oilers.
NHL Insider Links Jake Allen to the Edmonton Oilers

On the latest edition of 32 Thoughts with Elliotte Friedman, the NHL's top insider revealed that the Canadiens have indeed had discussions surrounding their veteran goaltender.
"[The Oilers], they spoke to Montreal, who do not need a goalie in return, about the possibility of trading Jake Allen. [...]"
While no deal is seemingly imminent, this is a major development, as the Canadiens are still a few years away from competing, and with the Oilers being desperate for goaltending help, this is their chance to get a major haul in return.
A veteran goaltender on the move once again
At 33-years of age, Allen has 11-years experience in the NHL, with 112 starts coming for Montreal, and over that decade long run, he's put together a solid career with 186-152-39 record, a 2.71 GAA and a .909 save percentage.
While the Oilers have no doubt reached out to several teams with an abundance of goaltending, this just suggest the Canadiens are open for business already, and if they can have another solid trade deadline, it will help them add even more assets for their rebuild.
