This long-time NHL veteran just took the next step in making his return to the NHL for this season.

Parise Seen Skating in Minnesota and Hasn't Ruled Out Playing This Year

Recently it was confirmed that Zach Parise has started skating again in Minnesota, his hometown. Parise had previously told the Islanders that he wasn't going to attend training camp in order to spend more time with his family. Parise has not confirmed whether or not he will be retiring this year.

Parise had told media at the end of last season that he was unsure if he would play this year, however, if he did, it would be for the New York Islanders. GM Lou Lamoriello also believes that Parise isn't ready to retire just yet.

Teammates Are Putting the Pressure on Parise to Return to New York

If the decision wasn't weighing on him enough already, Parise's Islander teammates have added to the pressure to make a choice for the upcoming season. At the Islanders golf outing before the season, Mat Barzal told Parise to get back to New York.

«Zach, if you're watching, get back here," Mat Barzal said at golf outing.

Per @reporterchris on Thursday, Zach Parise has resumed skating, and Parise said back in April it was #Isles or nowhere.

Parise will need to make his decision sooner rather than later as the Islanders solidify their lineup and cap space.
