Jack Hughes set a crazy record for the longest time on the ice in NHL history
It's not often you say this with the last few years, but there was an intense game between the New York Islanders and the New Jersey Devils yesterday.
In a hard-fought game between the two teams, where the final score was a 6-4 Islanders victory, it's more of an absolutely insane record that's getting attention from the game this morning.
Devils forward Jack Hughes spent an incredible 6 minutes and 2 seconds on the ice at the end of the game. This is the new record for the longest appearance in NHL history.
He even spent 7 minutes and 52 seconds in his last two appearances on the game.
That's crazy!
Hughes finally finished the game with a total of 26 minutes and 13 seconds. The 21-year-old centre had never exceeded the 26-minute mark since joining the NHL. Last year, he exceeded 25 minutes on two occasions.
