Jack Eichel did something very unusual on Sunday
Seeing a player looking through a trash can in the middle of a game is quite unusual. However, when you know why, it becomes less disturbing.
Indeed, after his hat trick on Sunday, Eichel wanted to keep a little souvenir with the caps thrown on the ice by the fans!
Eichel later explained what Bruce Cassidy told the team.
"Butch (Bruce Cassidy) was saying that he wants to start a new tradition that if you get a hat-trick you take one of the hats and put it up... I was looking in the container and it had nice hockey laces on it so I grabbed it. It's not a bad hat... but I'm not going to put it in my house,"
