We learned yesterday that the Montreal Canadiens will be paying a very special tribute to P.K. Subban on January 12th.

In a press release titled "P.K. Subban's Homecoming Scheduled for January 12," the CH announced that the club's former star defenseman will be honored in a big way.

For some reason, there were all sorts of negative reactions afterwards, with some criticizing the decision to honor Subban ahead of other former players in the organization like Andrei Markov and Tomas Plekanec.

On this subject, we have just learned a major piece of information thanks to Martin Lemay:

"According to Martin Lemay of On Jase on RDS, Chantal Machabée told him that the Tricolore had originally planned to invite both PK Subban AND Andrei Markov on January 12 for the homecoming tribute.

However, Markov is unable to travel from his native country due to commitments already made." - HabsOnReddit

And Chantal would have added this:

"Chantal went on to tell Lemay that the Tricolore is still in discussions to invite and honor Andrei Markov in Montreal at a later date." - HabsOnReddit

Okay! Now that the details have been presented publicly, we can now fully enjoy the incredible night ahead for dear P.K.

Hopefully this puts to rest the "debate" of who should be honored or not.
