Huge statement from Connor Bedard that says a lot about the person he is
When you watch Connor Bedard play hockey, you can't help but think that he's going to be a dominant force in the NHL from the moment he starts skating. A talent this exceptional doesn't take five years to develop in the big leagues.
But the remarkable thing about Bedard is his humility. The young man doesn't consider himself better than anyone else, and he doesn't take anything for granted. In fact, after his outstanding performance at the last World Junior Championship, he refused to talk about himself, praising the work of his team-mates.
The Blackhawks play their first game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Connor was asked how it felt to play against his idol in his first career game. His simple answer surprised many.
"I've got to make the team first."
